GRAPES: Sangiovese, Black Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon
WEATHER CONDITIONS: after a bizarre beginning of the growing season, from mid-July temperature rose and the veraison began 10/15 days late compared to the last years. In September, there was a rise in temperature that led to a proper maturation of the grapes and preserved their health. During the month of October, in many cases the heavy rainfall have led to a dilution of the quantity and quality of the grapes still to be harvested. The production was uneven but with peaks of excellence within individual companies.
PROVENANCE: Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. territory in the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
EXPOSURE: South, South/West, West SOIL: Sandy clays with a high presence of stone
PLANT DENSITY: 4500 vines per hectare.
VINEYARD ALTITUDE: 350 m a.s.l.
TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot
TASTING NOTES It has a ruby red color, the nose is intense with a predominance of red berries and violets; the taste is soft, balanced and remarkably persistent.
MATCHING: It goes perfectly with red meat dishes and aged cheeses.
VARIETY: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Black Canaiolo and Colorino
